When you work at any other job their will be cameras present and you have know privacy when you are on the floor. What the difference when you up front you are at work so you can be filmed. Also it does matter why you got in the wreck if you were doing as you suppose to do maybe you can keep your job, again if you were texting or doing something against company policy you will be fired.

These cameras record video and audio 24/7. Not just when you're in the drivers seat.

When I'm done driving I'm in the sleeper with curtains closed.

Ok so... What do you do with a driver who gets in accidents and is found to be at fault, but he's always doing everything right on camera? You still fire them for being incapable.

Also I was planning on driving teams with my lady as soon as she can get her CDL. And I'm definitely not trying to have our relationship become a reality tv show for some cumquats in a corporate building.

The cameras are there to prove fault. Sometimes it will be in the insurance company's favor and prove the driver wasn't at fault. Other times it will prove the driver is at fault and the insurance will have to pay out.

I am just waiting for the new thread, On Guard: Not on my watch.

Because the DriveCam is just a grain of sand compared to On Guard.

I have had DriveCam with two different companies.( Both times, cameras installed after I became employed there.) The DriveCam just sits there 99.99% and does nothing. DriveCam might even help you at times, when you get tangled up with a car with no witnesses.

But On Guard, omg, is the most insane piece of electronics ever installed in a truck. On Guard= non stop beeping and buzzing 100's of times on your trip. On Guard brakes your cruise when you approach another vehicle from 150 feet away. On Guard will do a hard break when ever it feels appropriate. On Guard, never, ever, ever on my watch.

You're now supporting my argument. They're there to prove fault. Which a forward facing camera does all by itself.

So let's say a car cuts off a truck and slams its brakes. The truck inevitably rear ends the car, but just before the collision the camera shows the trucker reaching over to flip on the jakes. The trucker would probably get blamed even tho that crash would have happened no matter what. That's just one of a million scenarios. Those cameras are going to screw you over.

My company has them but they have never bothered me about anything. You hit a bump and the camera will record. My camera didn't work for three weeks and they didn't say anything.

I just don't understand those who would defend having a camera pointed at them all the time in their "mobile home away from home"... Then again I don't understand those who would defend radical terrorists, socialists party members, or neo-Nazi's either...it takes all kinds I guess.
