hi everyone I have a problem that started a while ago. I can run my truck all day and all night and shut it off and start it up right away and the truck is on high idle for about ten min. It never did this before then all of a sudden it started doing it. I have asked a few guys I know they are not sure what it could be and nor do I. It is a 1995 freightliner classic with a Detroit .

Get a good referral for an experienced person with the right equipment. An honest guy with the right equipment is cheep in the long run. Seems to me that the engine mfg shops often do better on stuff like that than the truck mfg shops that are certified for that engine. That does not mean they are all honest even if the company is above board a mechanic can be padding his pocket by taking advantage of you. If I threw darts I would lean toward the ECM but don,t throw darts. Ristow statement is surly based on some experience and is relatively inexpensive. ECM's are not.
