I am going to take a beating here, but Stevens Transport out of Dallas is a good training company. Any of these large companies that will hire you, is a good place to start. Just take the good days with bad ones and get thru their period to get their school paid for. Once you get your school paid for, driving jobs in east texas will not be all that hard to find. Good luck and be safe.

They do now. Don't go by what's on the website. Most companies are bending their own rules now.

I'm really appreciative of all the responses.
Lots of things to think about.

I know I'm going to be a truck driver.
I'm just going to have to take a few knocks on the head to get this going.

But shoot, I been able to shift through 13 gears since I was 10 years old and dad would let me drive his 71' White 9000 down I-10 , bobtail across the lake Pontchartrain causeway.

I'd give WEL Companies a call … they are a reefer co. Although they do not offer CDL training they do take new students with no experience and I have heard they are very "felon friendly". Good Luck!

With two felonies and the latest on less that 3 years old you will be very limited to say Carolina Cargo

Honestly probably the worst company out there. But they are strictly a second chance company. If you need somewhere to start to start your second chance and move on then carolina cargo is it.
