Do companies have access to this site?? So even if I'm not on it now and it's gone from my system, since it's on my medical records, I'll have a problem? I just don't wanna be on something if I don't have to.

Isn't that against the HIPAA rules? What if you have say HIV or some other disease? How can get away with this?TROOPER to TRUCKER Thanks this.

Not all companies do this but there are larger companies that do.
Because you signed a form giving them access. That is not against HIPPA.
HIPPA rules only say they can't give any info to someone you haven't authorized.
99% of the time there wouldn't be a problem. But, you start asking questions about certain drug screens checking for specific drugs and they go looking.
Do they follow this forum???
Some do but they don't have the resource's to check every post. They use keywords, like the company name to search. -
And they have access to see who is posting? Is that what you were saying? I already filled that form. Even if I don't show up(was called a conditional offer) and they pull med records, could that be put on a report or something somewhere? Or no? Cuz I'm thinking about not even going and just Savin up money to go back to truck school. Only rsn I'm going with this company is becuz they don't make me do refresher course. And how do they find your records? There like a database?Last edited: May 7, 2016

Just out of curiosity, what companies do this?
-
I can't speak to companies having you sign to give them access to your medical records. If you were on a prescribed drug and are no longer on it. I don't think they're gonna base their decision on that unless something looks wrong. About 15 yrs ago I had a back injury and I was on oxycodone for a whole yr until I had surgery and quit taking the stuff. That is in my records but I don't know why in the world it would affect me or anyone from getting a job. Don't ever ask what type of drug test they need you to take. That will definitely throw up a red flag like the other poster said. But most companies go with the standard 5 panel dot test because it's cheaper for them. It also depends on the doctor. I know a guy who takes klonopin for sleep and mild anxiety. He wrote it on his medical card application and the doctor approved it.
Bottom line IMO is if you're off the mess then you got nothing to worry about. Read all paperwork carefully and don't worry about your med records. Those are private and confidential and they have to tell you when you sign the papers that this is a release form so we the employer can access your records. They can't just sneak it in the fine print. Hope this helps -
You mean ask them directly or on here?do companies have access to this site or something?Last edited: May 7, 2016

If it is any type of disability that is recognized you will be covered under the Americans with disability act.
Falcon86a Thanks this. -
Im concerned that you went off your Meds without consulting your Physician . I realize you want to get back into trucking asap but your health is much more important. Mental health is something you should work closely with your doc and is very serious. Without our health we have nothing.
I personally dont believe a company can dig up my personal medical information. I have had this conversation with my Doctor and feel safe with what he told me.str8t10, Falcon86a and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this. -
I just need to shut up and zip it. I don't do a #### thing with pills until they get through with the pissah. My very favorite is those famous Vitamins that come in a yellow packet and overdose you with 5000 grams of vitamin C and 200 other good things.
I don't even want to consider the destruction I would do to a pissah test now what with the scheduled medcines I take daily to enjoy a good quality of life as a high functioning person rather than bed ridden.TROOPER to TRUCKER Thanks this.
