A long 3/8" socket extension will take them right off if they're plastic caps. And the bonus, it can be used as a punch, pry bar and also an extension for sockets.

I'm not sure what is so hard about using a valve cap remover (on the inside tires) and then just checking the pressure with a regular pressure gauge.

I like things simple. It's less to go wrong.

Another thumbs up for the Cats Eyes.. Had them for a few years and would recommend to anyone. If someone wondered, they will fit with the vinyl wheel covers like you see on Schneider trucks. You can peek thru the window to check the eye.

Those valve cap removers are a little difficult to use when the tire jockey replaces an outside tire and doesn't take the extra 10 seconds make sure the rim is in a position to put a gauge on the inside tire.

That's why I like my super singles. Of course, when things go wrong, it will be really wrong and usually involves not only a new tire, but a new rim as well.
