Up at the KW dealer getting my front end fixed, you know, 2 new shocks to replace the 2 leaking ones, another alignment and balance, all with just 45k on the clock. Meanwhile, my load is sitting at the yard, we need to be in Edmonton Alberta Monday morning. Carl doesn't have a passport so I'll be leaving him in a motel in Shelby Mt, then I'll finish the trip and pick him up on my way back into the states.

Spoke too soon. Trailer tandems won't unlock. I'm 13120 on the front axel. And the fifth wheel slide has been disabled. So, I'm awaiting road service. Not having a good week.

I got them to retract once. Pulled the release, no retract. Red valve out. I went around to each pin and could push them all in. No retract. Took my crowbar and pushed each pin in, no retract. Went to walk back to the truck then I heard them retract. Slid the tandems and re-weighed. Now I'm stuck with overloaded steers.

I think every truck I have driven here has been nose heavy... The '13 Volvo was always 12,700+ and the '14 Volvo was 13,000+ when full. It's ultimately up to you as the driver but never had it become an issue at a weigh station... Yet.

    If it were me,
    I'd call it good.
    But that's me...

Per my truck, I'm OK by 200 pounds. Per Most states, it isn't supposed to be more than 12000. I've gotten away with 12250. But over 13k I'm not comfortable with.

I can't afford a ticket because of defective equipment.

You are allowed up to 20,000 on the steers just long as you don't exceed 80,000 gross weight. Of course other 2 not exceed 34k The weight limits can be verified in the front of your rand McNally map. I never worried bout my steers, cross a scale with 13k and got green light

    MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.
