How are the big fleets "screwing over the company driver having to look for parking"? These big fleets that are overwhelmingly manned by company drivers by not paying an extortionate fee, when the big fleets account for less than 1/4 million drivers and the national fleet is in the area of 3-4 million?

Oh wait my bad...I forgot about the hivemind hatred for the evil mega fleet "anti o/o initiative" and its related cabal. I will recite 1000 "death to Robert Low's" to the sound of 8" straight pipe unmuffled jake brake recordings.

Yeah trucking doesn't cost enough now, charging me to park, would be an awesome additive to my companies costs. $1000 a month? haha guess it is great if your a company driver and you don't have to foot the bill. Now if it doesn't interrupt current parking and new parking was added for the "in the club" boys. great hope many pay their dues and go park there and free up some space.

For a grand a month I don't want extra amenities for me, give them to my truck. I dunno, 2 reefer washes and a full truck wash per week, idk a heavy discount on some parts. Even still I would rather not. 1000 a month lol it upsets me to pay 200 a month to park my trailers.

Right next to the Trump steaks, Trump wine, and parking is FREE for a year if you attend Trump University.

The parking problem is not going to get any better. Read the article Truck stops are losing money hand over fist. Property values are going through the roof which causes the taxes to rise through the roof.

Don't even start on liability insurance costs for running these truck stops.

You think these truck stops are making a fortune on fuel you are crazy.

The money is all made on the food and other crap sold in the store or restaurant.

The fuel is simply there to entice the truck in to buy stuff from the store.

All you read about on this site is how to save money and cook in your truck.
So you buy 50 gallons of fuel and get a shower and free parking overnight,
How much money do you think the truckstops made.

10 bucks at best I bet.

There is very little profit in fuel sales, especially if you have to accept credit cards and pay a percentage to the card company.

The megas need to build terminals for their fleets.

Writing on the wall is the RV world , you used to park you RV over night in a park for 15-20 a night , now most are 35 a night.

Walmart ,homedepot ,target you name it any large mall down here by me in SW Florida have no parking or be towed signs .

You think 10 bucks a night is expensive to park you are crazy, go buy a boat and find a overnite dock at 1.50- 2.00 bucks a foot per a night. That would only be 130 bucks a night for most trucks out there.

i don't think truck stops will start charging so much as they'll start doing the loves approach and only have 6 parking spots lol less insurance less taxes on less land and more in n out traffic (the type they want!)
