Please explain how your constitutional rights are being wiped away? It's their truck, their rules. I don't like cameras in trucks but to me it's no different than Abu installing cameras in his 7-11. Cameras are everywhere. Do they belong in trucks? Personally I don't think so but again.....their truck, their rules. Now if you were an owner operator and the government forced a camera in the truck that you paid for I could see that as an infringement on your rights.

 

Probably isnt long until Feds enforce mandatory cameras. I am a fisherman and when longling Halibut we have to have actual physical observers WITH cameras onboard now. Also have to pay for their travel and feed and house them in "satisfactory" conditions

 

Cameras are there to screw you over!

TheTruckersReport has been showing an increasing amount of upset drivers because of the inward facing cameras. Threads like these are only going to get worse. I'm still waiting for threads of drivers coming on here to complain about what their companies are doing with the videos. I think we're going to find out soon enough. These companies are going to pass those videos to the cops and they're gonna grill you!

 

Transport America tried to install driver facing cameras in their trucks. They actually did install them in about 50 of their trucks. When a bunch of drivers told them they would quit before they would accept these cameras the company decided not to equip anymore trucks with them. If drivers would boycott companies that install these spy cameras that would put them out of business in a hurry. If they don't have any drivers, who's going to drive their trucks for them?

Do you think a Bank hires someone to watch the cameras? Do you think a Casino has dozens of employees watching every camera they have installed? They record what the camera sees on TAPES or DVDs. You can download huge amounts of information onto a computer and retrieve it for viewing anytime you want to. Haven't you ever heard of YOU TUBE?

 

Ask on the Qualcomm if you can put a camera in a female dispatchers bedroom and see how long til you're talking to HR...

 

Seems pretty simple to me,don't work for these companies and they're trucks will sit in the yard.unfortunately people nowadays have no backbone.

 

You and others can look at it as violating your rights but all in all, with the multitude of reckless driving and fatal accidents that the Trucking industry is hit with annually, truck companies are forced to apply the pressure towards the drivers, to keep them on the straight and narrow. Hard braking is a sign of following too close, no seatbelts is a sign of self endangerment as well as lost control of the vehicle should you have to hit the brakes hard unexpectedly, causing you to be tossed from your seat because you didn't have the belt restraining you, lastly the cell phone issue. Distracted driving has become the top reason for accidents (which by the way is no accident but simple carelessness of the ones bring distracted). Laws have forced companies to be more aggressive to ensure safety to the public. Headsets help reduce distraction but not completely. It is good that you are able to ventilate. Helps relieve the stress you feel at times over this job. Especially with the multitude of aggressive driving done by people in automobiles now of days. Best of luck with you. Home safely is the key
