I team... Central has been good to us, but we have to squeak every now and again... But that's true for any company I would think. The Central pet policy is 1 cat or dog not to exceed 50#... There is a $500 NONREFUNDABLE fee, but if you change trucks, that fee moves with you as long as there has been no damage.

I am reading all over the place about centrals pet policy. How current date wise is this info. For every yes I can find a no. And the best is one would think the dates of the post might help, but they overlap.... Any info I just signed on as a student in sacrament, School two weeks, they put me up in motel sketch 6 one mile from school, I take my own car and drive one mile to school. Then Ito Fontana via my charter bus, aka greypup then to meet the terminal... After training. I want my pooch there with me. Ps those who have dogs and give others and thy are so many of you people that do just create a foul mess with your pet. Could you please invest in an oreck, and a spotbot. Life is so much better and no one ever comes to my apartment and thinks I even have a dog, and usually the friends I pick laugh how much I enjoy my man cave that by the nature of the man usually has a dog or beastie of some kind..... So what's up with the current central policy. Who do I got to pay off how much do,I got to spend or what agency do I have to register my dog with etc. I like being a legal beagle. Hehe

I drive for Holland Enterprises out of North Dakota. We have a pretty liberal pet policy. Anyone looking might check here. I'm pretty happy with the company as a whole as well.

Now that Swift owns Central, no idea of the current pet policy... BS (before Swift) it was a $500 NONREFUNDABLE deposit ... One cat/dog less than 40#

My husband is currently working for swift. He is a new driver and already is having so many problems with this company. I am riding along with him as well. We have family looking after our Doberman but we really want to bring her with us since we are hardly ever home. Every company seems to be so set on how "Dobermans" are so aggressive. Our Doberman has never bit anyone and the only thing she has going against her is that she is too friendly and loves giving kisses to anyone. Hell a poodle, Maltese, or yorkie can be aggressive, it's all in how a dog is raised. We have a 3 year old and trust me I wouldn't dare put her in harms way if I had any doubt in my mind about our dobie. I guess my question is, is there any company out there that someone knows of that will allow a teddy bear Doberman plus a rider??? Doesn't matter the deposit because there is no price too big for our living dobie. Thanks in advance everyone!

How long has he been driving?

I was/am set on not doing more OTR unless I can take my dog. I've done research off and on. I estimate only about 10% of companies allow any sort of pet. Most of the companies that don't allow any pet consider an "illegal pet" the same as an "illegal rider"/hitchhiker, grounds for immediate termination. Never make the mistake of thinking that because you have seen a pet in a truck for Company ABC that ABC allows pets. The pet companies often have pretty low weight limits for pets, 20-25 pounds being common, from my memory.
The quickest answer will come from just calling trucking companies, talking to whatever they call Safety Dept these days and asking about "pet policy". Anyone other than a specific company's Safety Dept. is just a wild guess you cannot rely on. Don't mention the breed. Ask about pets and ask about weight. Don't explain your life story and don't give them your real name, they don't need it to answer a question.
Try Roehl (pronounced RAIL) and R + L Gator. Your chances are better if you are an Owner-Operator although becoming an O-O is a HUGE step and I would not recommend you consider it just to bring my pet. It's a financial risk if you aren't very clear about what you are doing. I wouldn't do it on a dare.bkhtruckerwife Thanks this. -
@bkhtruckerwife

There's plenty more. As @tscottme recommended, don't volunteer any information that isn't asked for specifically. If the dog is borderline legal, then leave it somewhere until you get away from the terminal. Leave it at a kennel or relatives house for a day or so.Last edited: May 15, 2016

Thanks so much for the advice. Most we have talked to are only wanting owner ops to have pets but just starting out we do not want to jump into anything just starting off trucking.

Thank you, I will make sure we start calling some of those companies!
