Start With Prime?

I heard their training program is good.

 

If starting today, Prime or Schneider.
Both have multiple divisions to move into when you know what you want to do.

 

I've heard good things about Prime within the last couple years. It's still a big mega, but just put your time in and move on.

 

I went with Prime to get my cdl almost 4 years ago , you start getting paid after you get a cdl because you aren't actually an employee until you have it . They will advance you 200 dollars a week until then. Once you have your cdl your pay is a guaranteed 700 dollars a week or 14 cents per dispatched mile wich ever is greater

 

That is while you are in training (TNT)

hmmmmmmmmm, a little misleading for "paid training". It's paid training.... AFTER you can pass a CDL exam which how fast is that gonna happen? I'd think at least a couple weeks!

I'd seriously look into private schooling before you do the whole company thing. Any respectable school offers financing and most allow you to be on the road for a month or so before the repayments start. Aside from the fact that companys COME TO YOU to recruit you and are (sorta) competitive. Even if you went to them anyways you'd go there with a license in hand and do much better because of it. The difference in pay could possibly repay your schooling.

 

I started 2005 with CRE. Did 3 months and went JBHunt, and the world was a much better place.
Dude go with a company that does van, its 1/100th the hassle that reefer is.
I paid for my school up front. $1500 up front. Got my license and didn't owe anyone, anything. That is the way to do it. Don't get into massive debt with a trucking company.

 

Yeah, it will take 3-4 weeks, I did have 2 students though who were ready to take the driving test in 2 weeks, but they were the exception.
