I always make at least 80 and work 9-10 months a year (thats not including $450 a week unemployment while I'm on "vacation") and we don't pay a dime for our health and welfare. There are plenty of union carhaulers making a 100+ a year. There is quite a few job that drivers make $50 a hour or more and home every night.

Luvmyhubby,
Thank you for your information. I have been talking to some PMTG drivers lately and I have been impressed to say the least, with what they have had to say. I mean, the drivers seem to be very compensated for their work and their time and seem to be satisfied with the way PMTG management deals with the drivers, equip maint., and so on. I hope that your hubby is doing well there and I look forward to joining PMTG around NOV 08. Thanks agin for you info.Last edited: Aug 5, 2008

I may be a new car hauler, but I am not an idiot. It is impossible to deliver 70 cars a week.Last edited by a moderator: Jun 30, 2009

Are you SURE ABOUT THAT?
I've done 63 cars in just 3 days. I was over 100 for the week.
Also you need to read the forum terms of service, the part about insulting other members.
Other wise your stay on our site will be short lived.walleye Thanks this. -
If you think your going to make any money hauling cars,...You'd better learn how to get real fast at loading and unloading cars,............70 a week should be an easy week,.......
-
Hes not thinking about local work you can haul 150 in 5 days not a problem
-
I am looking at putting me & my truck to work hauling cars. The car company would have me under thier athority w/ thier trailer and pay 60 %. I pay for fuel and bobtail insureance. Does this sound good or not so good? I need to start some how but I can't do it for a hobby. I got to pay the bills too.
-
Whether or not its a good deal depends on what that 60% figures out to be.
The percentage is just a number, what its a percent of is the bigger concern.
For example, 10% of $1000 is $100
but 60% of $100 is only $60.
Find out what that 60% adds up to. Be absolutely certain to talk to other lease drivers at this company before jumping into a bad deal.
I got screwed out of $30,000 on a FLEECE deal with car hauling. If I never haul another car in my life it'll be just fine with me. -
That sucks Brickman!!! Have been reading this forum for awhile & missed that, knew you hauled cars, but that was it. Hard to find honest guys to work with, which is just flippin' sad!
Plumkrazy, talk to everyone you can find who has pulled for that co. recently & get their opinion. What I mean is try to find if only a few have left or if everyone is has jumped ship along with what was already mentioned.Brickman Thanks this. -
Only took about 10 months to happen either.
Had I stuck to my guns in May of 08 and quit the deal when I told
them I was gonna it would have saved me about $10,000. They talked
a real good game and like a dumb axx I got suckered in one more time.
You know trying EVERY THING I could think of to make it all work. Soon
as I bought a $10,000 APU I had a house fire and then they cut my work
off. I believe it was intentional on their part to allow me to go broke.
After a lot of lip service the day after the fire about how they WOULD
NO allow me to go broke I sat for a month with little to no work. After a
month I went back out for one run and when I refused to haul 4 cars one
way and nothing o the return trip I was told to bring the truck back to
their yard within 24 hrs or they would report the truck stolen.
The ONLY good part of that FLEECE was the truck loan was not in my name.
So when they "repoed" it I didn't have that ding on my credit.
