Why catch up before passing?

Just wondering, since 99% of all trucks that catch up to mine in the right lane won't pass any sooner than after staying 1/2 second behind for at least a few seconds, even if no one else is on the road, what are you trying to accomplish with that?

Personally, I begin passing from several seconds back or stay back there until there's a train sized opening in both directions.

The only time they'll pass sooner is if I drop a couple gears as they approach. Well that works out in a lesser of two weevils sort of way, especially in traffic, since they pull too close in front too (at least then I'm not 1/2 second behind for several seconds).

It isn't a rhetorical question, just seems to be a rhetorical regulation. So is the speed limit though, or they wouldn't be catching up in the first place. Although I don't see why if they (or you) want to go faster, what's with staying behind too close for too long...

Something like that I guess (had higher hopes at some point).

I do this bc the truck I drive is governed. it seems that 30% of the trucks I manage to catch up to over a period of 50 miles miraculously speed up when I attempt to pass them.

Doesn't that crap just PISS you off???????

I don't understand what's so hard to use the dang cruise control. Cuz i certainly don't use the gas pedal except when needed.

The only reason i'm following, is because i'm boxed in waiting for traffic. To which 99% there's traffic.

    That's called bird dogging...
They want to get you speeding up while they stay in the granny Lane
...so you will be the obvious choice for getting the speeding ticket

I think them speeding days are mostly gone now. Considering the speed limits these days are higher then what trucks can go. Unless you're in california or some town somewhere.

Some guys get in this "hey your in my way" mode, like Im just gonna floor it more or something...I dont know...When you run up on me all close, im thinking your looking for trouble, almost as if your doing it in person, but with a protective rolling forcefield that protects you from reprocussions...
Guy ran up on me the other night, 5 million miles of nothing but me and him, and he's 2 inches behind me....I see him hours later at a stop, and he's a lame butt wussy with his sweats pulled up to his neck, incapable of defending an attack..i dont get it

They do it to me all the time.
A way faster truck will tailgate me at my 62mph for miles when there's no traffic keeping them from passing,
Then they pass me and the other trucks that just passed the both of us,

Im guessing it could be a racial/cultural item....Most whiteys hang back or blow by..The only time we do it, is when were doing it intentionally because were being buttholes on purpose!!!
