I was listing to 146 yesterday. They had on an assemblyman from CA. A law to reduce gasoline consumption by 50% over 13 years was nearly defeated last year. Crazy stuff.

Con-Way had a policy where you always lock the trailer, empty or loaded, and I've just kept on doing it. I figured what the heck, it doesn't take but a few seconds and it'll prevent any surprises when I get to a shipper.
So after 6 weeks at home, I finally decide to hit the road and find this on my pretrip:
Hope that ####### felt real smug as he opened the door and found an empty trailer... -
You don't have secured parking??
Dominick253 Thanks this. -
Gated, but the gate is open 99% of the time
Rocks, paul_4lp and Dominick253 Thank this. -
Suggest cameras to the property owner, or actually controlling access better?? If it were me, I'd be livid.
paul_4lp, Dominick253 and RERM Thank this. -
Camera's usually don't do much aside from telling you that someone cut your lock which you already know. You spend hours looking through footage to find the culprit just to discover that it's a non-descript person wearing dark clothes at night and not looking in the direction of the camera. If you want to keep people out of a trailer back it up against a wall. Then they'll need a cordless sawzall instead of bolt cutters.

What several folks have recommended.

Most crooks are too lazy to cut through that much metal. Had several drivers say that trailers around them where opened and they were not bothered.Iron-Man, Big_D409 and double yellow Thank this. -
Dominick253 Thanks this.
