Gauge lights are out. But, so is the camera. Should I be concerned?

Was reading a thread about how to let your engine cool down prior to shutting it off.

Mixed info in it about the need to do it in modern trucks while others said the new engines actually run hotter than the old ones.

Does anyone here let their engines idle for some time before shutting them down? If so, how do you do it? First I am hearing this idea.

    Thanks,
    MD

Look at it this way, your turbo is turning at very high RPM'S. If don't let the engine idle for a coupe minutes and shut down right away, you stop the supply of oil to the turbo.

If you go on the Qualcomm under Performance Monitoring. Then click on Violations. Then click on thresholds. You will see warm up and cool down times for 3 to 5 minutes.

Just had a brief sleet/snow shower here in Tamaqua, which is pretty far east/south/lower in elevation. It's the first time I've ever seen frozen precipitation in my backyard in the month of May...
