Antenna mount on fiberglass

    Lot of good ideas.
    I've attached some pics to see the exact details. I like the plan of using NMO mount at the blue dot in the picture.

    I could try the ground strap back center of bed to NMO mount and carry down through to frame. Then I could see how it's working. If not satisfactory then could add some sheet metal to underside of lid. Wouldn't be too difficult. Adhesive and rivets. If I did that the mount would need to be about 3-1/2" to make it to the sheet and past those ribs in the lid.

    Still looking at mounts and antennas. Not dead set on method yet.

    Not much room between back of cab and lid.

    Silly thought for those w/o a bed cover..
    Why not have a tripod type mount in the beds center..Use tie down straps as a way to hold it in place then run ground straps in same place..All 4 corners are covered for a counterpoise and to hold in place then mount ant type and length to your desire..Useing bed floor also as a way of reflecting your signal..Kinka like a big ear..Guess thats considered counterpoise aint it..

    Hhhmmmm...never knew they existed..if it gets to the point i cant drive long haul anymore..That might be an option..

    Cool..Only thing i dont really like is that they are flat..Would be nicer if it had a hint of a hump..Just for water run off..

    Weight would be an issue to..Dont wanna be adding a ton of weight to an already heavy p/u..
