Are those Swift flatbedders hauling dedicated freight or running irregular route?

We've been discussing swift flatbed in our group on facebook, sends they will bring you in as a driver trainee and you have to request flatbed training, but we was told that there was a backlog of flatbed training

And it seems the flatbedders are of a different breed from the van/reefer side.

I was in flatbed at swift. Only division of that company id recommend. They have some steady freight.
I started at 38 cpm out of school though not 41, it may have changed but I'm not sure.
Flatbed at swift is about 300-400 trucks compared to the 20,000+ van guys you get treated kinda right.

I know in NC they haul school bus frames on step decks. I passed several of them on my way back from Durham on 85.

Where you live you'll mainly be on what they call the triangle.

Starting in OH, load of coils going to the border.
From Laredo to to the Carolinas with frame rails.
Carolinas to N. Indiana with bus/RV chassis.
Or from Laredo you could take a load of vans (the easiest FB load you've ever seen) anywhere in the nation. From where you end up they'll run you with spot freight until you're back their good lanes.

That triangle is very consistent and it's all easy freight.

    ZephyrSoCal and GoldenLad Thank this.
