    I couldn't see when I posted the question... ;)

I thought that was frowned upon by some guys here. Don't get me wrong I don't know a thing about it, just wondering and interested in learning.

Back in my lowboy days I had someone ask me to unload a 953 Cat off the side.

I called the boss and he nearly had a heart attack...

"NO!!! We don't unload off the side. I like to keep the trailers longer than they last when people do that".

    Dye,

Do you read the HH forum? For an open deck guy, even if you don't pull heavy, it's good reading.

I honestly respect you cuz I know how hard it is running in Canada and the cold. And your young, people love to rag on Millenials but you do your generation proud.

beastr123, Chewy352 and Dye Guardian Thank this.

Side loading trailers doesn't wear them out faster.

I bet out company trailers that are side loaded every day are in better condition than the average fleet.

I guess it could if you do it wrong.

Judging by the characters I worked with at that time, I can see that.

It dam sure doesn't do them any favors.

If those trailers were designed to be loaded/unloaded that way, then why make them with a removable neck?

Trail king put stickers on their trailers that say do not side load, I wonder why?

I've side loaded a lot and I've seen it tear up trailers compared to the ones that don't get side loaded. If your careful it's not bad but I like to keep it to a minimum. Mac that white Trailking you where pulling how old is it?

You should have seen the trailer that was side loaded in our shop. Cracks all over it. I can see that there are times that it does need to be side loaded but doing it all the time is just lazy on the part of the driver. It only takes a few minutes to drop the trailer and remove the neck. The trailers are not designed to twist as things are loaded from one side.
