Schuster pays practical miles. If you have questions about other specifics just give them a call. I'm not a recruiter. I'm just a driver sharing my experiences. No offense, but they get paid to answer the specifics. I get paid to drive.
It is very misleading to gripe about having to pay lumper fees out of your pocket. If we're going to play amateur hour, I suppose it then makes sense to gripe about having to pay for tolls, scales and fluids as well (which any decent company pays for [reimburses]).
The fact that you and I, and others, have even talking about this just goes to show how easily a whiney little crybaby--that has no business being a trucker--can derail a thread simply by bringing things up that aren't even real issues.
No. I suggest using someone else's address and then just requesting hometime be spent in Maine because you "met a girl" or whatever.
True but sadly Shaffer is extremely picky about who they hire. I have two accidents on my record. They are not DOT recordable. I was not cited or found at fault. That, coupled with quiting companies that were truly garbage, prevented me from getting hired.
It is a catch-22 that many great companies want to see that you've put up with horrible companies for a long stretch, to somehow prove you have what it takes to work in a much more pleasant environment with better pay. The drivers that have worked for a half dozen companies inside of a few years--because they stood up for themselves, refused to be treated like crap, be lied to, or underpaid--are not the guys they want.
It also doesn't matter if you have never been proven to have caused an accident. Police reports mean absolutely nothing. You are considered guilty in the eyes of many trucking companies no matter what. You come away asking: whose side are they really on?Dharok, Canned Spam, 28 and 2 others Thank this. -
I made .46 at prime and that was the actual base pay, not fuel or safety, etc included into it...just saying

I think we are all saying the same thing...
Just a technical difference. We don't "pay" out if our pocket but we are at risk of paying for it IF we don't submit the paperwork.
Stay Safe,

And that makes this site such a great resource... Either get the feedback about a company from actual drivers (vs the moaners and groaners at the Truck Stop or Yard) or being able to verify what the recruiters are saying.

Right it's just a thing of keeping track of your paperwork.

Well put in an app today, and probably will be making a move in a few months if everything clears. I miss it out there. From what I have been reading this sounds like a pretty decent company and I like running all 48 so hopefully everything works out. Thanks for the all info.
LongHaulHighway Thanks this. -
Is the LeMars terminal the only terminal or do they have others?
Metallica88 and TheFriscoKid Thank this. -
Ok... Ok... Now that made me laugh... LOL
Thanks for the smile today.
