I can't stand that weigh station there. The scale used to be further south about the 3mm. in North Sioux City, SD. It only had a small scale and pretty short ramps. So they spent like 7 million bucks, in a state with only 700,000 people in it to build that new scale there. I go through there all the time, as I live in South Dakota. I have never once seen them use the bypass lane, even when they have trucks backed out on the highway. Even empty trucks, like mine often is, don't get the bypass lane. They spent all that money and don't even properly utilize the features of the facility. Just ticks me off. Govt waste and abuse at its finest.

They just built a 13 million dollar scale just east of superior,wi. Hard bunch too I hear.
-
I saw 2 people in the window doing the scaling. Maybe training. The actual scale sux. Whole truck instead of axle
-
I wouldn't think there would be enough truck traffic through there to justify that kind of dough. But maybe they'll at least use the bypass lanes properly.

The look on his face when he saw it in the grass would have been priceless.Lucy in the Sky Thanks this.

I always have a chain with me. Whether to get pulled out or pull someone else out. My boss encourages helping other drivers unless it's a really dangerous situation and you know it's gonna take a couple big wreckers to get em out. I've actually made about $300 helping drivers get out of trouble since January of this yr. I always refuse the money atleast twice but after that I say thank you and happy to help. If they're that intent on giving everyone some cash I can only say no so many times
David_Simpson, Getsinyourblood and tinytim Thank this. -
They have the weigh in motion the Janesville scale uses. I've been in once. Otherwise it's close . Gives our other drivers tough time though
