Im about to pull the trigger in the next couple weeks or sooner and purchase a used truck. I've been looking at the inventory at MHC and they have some good pricing and a good dealer network but I'll consider other options as well. Hoping to put 10% down since I have excellent credit and lease onto USA Truck where I'm currently at since I know the freight is pretty steady here.
Anyways, it's fairly difficult to chose after doing research. Cummins vs Paccar in a Peterbilt or Kenworth? There are a few nice Volvos available too. Mostly all are in the 12'-14' year range with around 300k to 500k. I've read good and bad about all. I'm def not going to consider a Maxxforce regardless of how cheap a deal or upgraded the engine may be. I understand the emissions systems will make or break me and I'm gonna be diligent about PM. Just wanna hear some thoughts of some of you experienced drivers who have dealt with this first hand and maybe help me make a decision. Thanks
Best truck for $50-60k

It's cool, I know you're just posting nonsense to up your post count. Unless you are that experienced driver that has first hand experience with this?Dominick253 Thanks this.

What are the numbers that USA had told you that you will get with them?
Dominick253 Thanks this. -
Directly from their website:
.98 plus .16 fsc
Absolutely terrible, pay that low is a disgrace to this industry.
SAY NO TO CHEAP FREIGHT PEOPLE!
Don't do it OP, if you wanna be an owner operator don't go to one of the lowest paying carriers out there, heck Swift pays more thats how bad USA truck is.ChromeNut, Tropsnart and Dominick253 Thank this. -
Only loaded mile and pay is terrible. Another factor is that how many miles will the OP actually get. Not that it really matters at that rate.
-
If OP is a smart business man he will NOT lease onto USA truck.
What a sad company with pay that lowTerry270 and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this. -
I was thinking the same thing the first time I read itfreightwipper Thanks this.

As ironic as it sounds, if you can read and speak articulate English, USA Truck is not the place for you.
When on the road, watch the drivers who drive for assorted carriers. Typically, the drivers are a direct representative of the carrier's values, and how they operate.
That being said, if USA truck is your company of choice, get yourself a white Volvo. You will fit right in. Ha! -
I simply cannot believe this. You should have to pass an IQ test before being allowed to buy a truck.
It's foolish people like this that are what's driving this industry into the ground.
Do us all a favor and look for another line of of work. You have no clue about running a Trucking business. And I'm serious.Eeyore05 and freightwipper Thank this.
