DOT Physical to see if I can pass

Just took one yesterday. The worst part was the crap on the waiting room TV while waiting 2 hours to be called in. Don't overthink it. And stay away from the guy coughing over in the corner.

 

Actually, before I quit my factory job to go to truck driving school, way back then, I went to the clinic to make sure I could pass, really just a routine checkup.
I had no idea what it consisted of.
I didn't get the med card, just a "yep. You're healthy enough"
And I've always got the 2 year card since.

 

If you are going to go through the process you may as well get the card.

 

Yep, just get a checkup. The DOT physicals are way easy to pass,
But it would suck to quit your job, give up your health insurance and then have a school tell you you have a hernia.

 

Where do you get your BP checked?Its best to have it checked at a medical office,the portable machines aren't accurate.I wouldn't waste your money on a physical.Just keep checking your BP from time to time.How is your vision?That's also done during physical.

 

That depends where it's done.Some doctors are more stricter then others for the standard DOT physical.Mine took two long hours.

 

2 hours? Geez. My last one took 20 minutes.

 

If you are paying for the school you will not have any problems as long as you pass the drug test. When I got to my company they did a new physical and because I have diabetes I'm on 1 year card.
