So nobody at DST in Laredo after 4 pm, no cleaning crew, need your own paper for the copier and no towels for drivers to shower with. That's cheap, Schneider!!!!!

I drive for Watkins. From what we were told was as of now we have no access to Schneider terminals and Schneider has no access to Watkins terminals. All Watkins terminals are warehouses. Full furniture loads from one location are brought in then unloaded and broken down and reloaded into LTL loads. Some of them have showers and shops some of them have absolutely nothing. From what we were told was over time if Schneider and Watkins had terminals close they would consolidate to the largest building. But for the ones that were not close to each other they would stay open. We were told we would still operate under the Watkins Shepard banner all new trucks and trailers ordered would have Watkins logos on them. There are a lot of nervous people at Watkins right now so if any are seen on the road a lot are looking for a peace of mind. So help them out if possible. I work out of the myrtle ms terminal and I do
Know the guy from Schneider dedicated and the Watkins ceo will be there Thursday. But they are going to all terminals so guess they just making rounds. Any good Schneider dedicated info would be great so shoot me a PM. We have all heard a lot of bad. I try to look at the bright side of things but sometimes it's hard.

Funny, you guys are being told differently than us guys, lol. We were told we will start seeing WS drivers at our terminals, to welcome them and show them around, and to also understand they have some different policies than we do. Our shop guys were given direction to help any driver out needing maintenance as best they could.

Yes we were sent a peoplenet message saying "eventually" we would have access to the terminals but the message said as of now not to attempt to access the terminals. As far as the shops yes we were told that we would use the Schneider shop network (whatever that means) but as of now keep doing what we been doing until everything is set up. Trailers is all I have to worry about because my truck is one of 60 lease trucks through Penske Watkins aquired from lane. So unless Schneider buys the lease out we deal with Penske on truck service. And last I heard there is still quiet some time on the lease. At least I hope so they are nice trucks lol.
I hope everything goes good with this hopefully it will be for the best. I love it at Watkins so would hate to see much change.

Schneider uses their company shops plus all wingfoot centers. If you need tires, lights ect you can go to any wingfoot without having to call maintenance.

I wouldn't worry to much, contrary to popular belief Schneider isn't that bad. I am sure some things on your side will change.....but maybe some on our side will for the better as well.

For now, welcome to the pumpkin.

The only 2 changes the guy mentioned (mark I think was his name) said the pet policy they were going to look at. Watkins allows pets and I assume Schneider does not. But he did say anyone that has a pet would be grandfathered in for the life of the pet. Which doesn't affect me, but I thought was cool of them to not just take something away from the ones who do have them. And the other was our Bluetooth policy. Which I didn't quiet understand what he meant. But I assumed they were talking about disabling the Bluetooth through the radio that is in our trucks. But like I said I'm not 100% sure. He didn't elaborate on the true policy. Other than that he told us our handbook would stay the same for now. Guess we will see. Lol
