Florida DOT is changing the I-75/Univerisity Parkway interchange to one of these new diverging diamond interchanges. How do you feel about these? I find them awkward. Do you think they are safer?

Looks interesting, havent ever seen one of those. Thats a couple exits down from where I live, will have to go play on it when they are done! When i was a youngster that used to be one of our spots to street race. University dead ended a half mile east of 75 and we raced towards the underpass..those were the good ole days.

I've encountered these in the ATL metro area. I forget the name of the town but it's one of the NE suburbs off of I-85. It seems odd when you first see one, but it does help to keep traffic moving in heavily congested areas that would otherwise cause back ups due to short left-turn arrows.

Can't see it being an issue. Just take one or two times through to get used to it.

I like it..............
There are so many exits that could use this idea, Free up those exit ramps bigtime. -
Way better than a pair of roundabouts.

There's one of these on the west side of Columbus just above the I70/I270 interchange. Seems to work decently enough. I heard before how there were supposed to be safer but I couldn't understand how since traffic has to cross twice. But seeing that video demonstrates pretty clearly that exiting and entering onto the near side of the road instead of having to cross opposing traffic is the benefit. Wonder if there's been a real world analysis done on working roadways to how much safer they actually are though.

Marion, IL has one like that @ x54 (The Hill Ave.). It was a little confusing the first time I saw it, but seemed to be easy enough to navigate. Felt kinda odd driving on the left with oncoming traffic to the right...

One in SLC. Left turns are a breeze.

I would wager you are referring to the Sawmill Rd interchange. If so, it's not the same. There is another like Sawmill Rd two exits south of I-270 on I-71.
