Hello. I just got my az and after I took extra lessons on manual. I got job offer from Schneider ,which is 3 weeks of training and after 0.37 cpm. My question is , is this the average rookie driver pay in Canada. Should I do one year with this company because they have a really good training program and later move around once I know ins and outs of this industry. What would you guys recommend ? Would you start your career with this pay ? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Schneider transport.

Any questions you may have I can answer then re Schneider I started here almost a year ago. I would look around considering you are in the Toronto area as there are tons of companies hiring
Traveler3492 Thanks this. -
I'm trying to look around but everyone needs someone with at least one year of experience. I was thinking work with Schneider for a bit and then move on to a better company with little bit of experience under my belt. And also how do I look for companies hiring in my area ? Online ?

Driverlink.com is a good site to find companies if you're in Ontario.

Yep. Tons of job banks out there. Schneider is a good company to start with and their training program is solid. In the end I am leaving for more home time and more money

I agree with Terry, I worked for Schneider for 2 years when I was fresh out of driving school; I enjoyed my time there and I thought it was a good company to work for; I left for the same reason and I have never returned to OTR.

Here is how the three week training breaks down
Two full days and five half days of in class
Four half days spent with a in school trainer
Seven to ten days spent with a otr trainer, you drive at least 95% of the time
Pass the test and you are on your ownTruckerBri and Traveler3492 Thank this. -
Thanks for all the info. By the way what kind of trucks do they have. I know should be happy with whatever I get to start with but I'm just curious.
