I never knew one had to have all endorsements. I was hired in 08 with just tanker Hazmat and doubles. But expats were starting to be replaced by cheaper kulak employees at one point.

I generally gross 1800 a week. 5 day work week (60-70), paid benefits. Bringing home 1500 a week is going to be tough. Ltl after several years with company maybe.

So 100k yr and home every night would be the greatest job for most. However there aren't many that offer that. But if one can stay in the truck or hotel rooms a few nights or 5,6 nights a week its more achiveable. It just depends on where you live really.

Guys like to use wal mart as the standard of high paying truck companies. But there are several that pay better than wal mart. (Not to take anything away from walk mart) But from what I noticed after yrs of being a fed up or driver. The best companies are private fleets. Or a company that specializes in some kind of haul. Dillard, Sherwin Williams, Bridgestone, or most any company that hauls there own product are great. But there rules and hiring criteria are strict!!!

With 6 months seat time your dreaming of a 100k per year. Unless you run otr for 330 - 355 days with no home time. And even then it would have to be a company that has the freight to keep you moving. And also one that paid in the .40+ CPM range.

After you have 3yrs seat time and safe driving record. A low PSP score you can go work anywhere just about. Here are some companies to try once you get a yr or 2 under your belt. Robbie D Wood they were paying great. But I'm not sure of now. Gully depending on where you live. They don't hire out ofeverywhere.

LTL is cool but they lay off when they get slow. But Estes and ODFL and Fed Ex are the best non union. And ABF, YRC, and UPS are good. And I tell ya what YRC are hiring guys and putting them trough school. So when you get done with training. You will have a local job and never have to hit the road away from family. Conway and other LTL companies are doing this also.

Wow I was on anaconda but the name was changed to jbb once the blue falcons took over. I was so thinking those jobs had dried up over there. Some ppl act as though there were going to buy land in Iraq. And others just gave it all to a Thailand dancer. A former battle buddy from oif just went to the ghanny w/ITT. He said jobs weren't paying enough for him to support his family. I done my time and that was it no more for me.

Let's see, I have been driving for four years now from ready mix, then oil field and now ltl. I grossed 63k in the oil field before things got really bad and I left. Ltl at my company at least, I know most guys are between 70k - 80k with bid runs. Running the extra board 6 days a week with some seniority could get you over 90k pretty quick but that's at least 3,000 miles a week plus getting a ton of extra pay. I know UPS pays the best but that's some serious commitment to work up the ranks there. Good luck
