What's The Last Day Of This Years DOT Blitz

See? Just like I said . . . @rachi is always prepared. Should be.

 

Yesterday driving up 75:
11 cars pulled over, 0 trucks
1 scale house open, out of 5.
Hmmm

I never understood why it's openly declared when a blitz Is happening. I have one friend who swears by taking this time of year off every year. I laugh.

 

7,8,9th . I've been in California all week been through 2 scales so far ......

 

On my trip up 35 today out of Hillsboro tx all the scales and portable sites in tx ok and kans were open and hard at work ....had to laugh when I stopped at braman ok for fuel , there was a truck in there owned by a tire distributer with a big orange oos sticker on it having new drive tires put on .

 

I have been looking high and low also. No blitz in Ohio that I can see. I did see a grocery hauler pulled in a small road side park on 127 in southern Mi. Trailer was on jack stands and all the tires were off. I assume it needed an impromptu brake job.

 

Also on Tuesday i crossed the Ohio Indiana line on 70 at about 6:00 a:m. Some one asked when the blitz started. Some one gave the correct dates, immediately another driver stated he wad wrong. He was on the government website and it said 9/11.I stated that was incorrect, said expert got terribly offended at me. I said Saturday wad the 11th and I didn't think that they would be putting in that much ot. But since he read it on the Internet and I heard it on the CB it had to be right.

 

They do this every year and it's no big deal ..I don't fear an inspection.

 

I'd only be nervous if u was an O.O and running no log book, running lights fuse busted, license plate torn off from a bumper incident, pulling an 80's trailer with flickering lights.

 

Here in this link is a bit about this event. Its been my experience over the years not all states do this at the same time. Some states have reduced their CMV enforcement budgets over the years. However this is one of the main CVSA events of the year.

Almost no D.O.T out for the blitz. Seems like they Don't have the enforcement people or the money to spend like they use to. The blitz use to be a real thing 24 hours of every scale open full of D.O.T.. I seen one inspection guy at Michigan scale house this morning with one truck.
