orientation is 2.5 days. The road test is different than most. Theyre the first company Ive seen who does the road test with a load (43,000 pounds or more of paper), their headquarters are in the PA mountains so that adds to the fun, you run about 15 miles. Its not super hard , just different. Also they make you perfrom a pretip inspection and have you demonstrate how to use load straps(theyll show you how if youre not familiar) so bone up on that prior. Our class was small (7) but they say the normal average is around 16......Also you can forget that southeast thing. They dont have regional, if they say they do theyre being half honest. Most of their runs take you northeast although I just finished my first week and I only went as far north as Pa.Last edited: Jun 10, 2016

How's it going with Smith? I was talking to one of their drivers who had been there 3 years. He was saying Smith was employee owned. Is that accurate?
