You all missed the point. I was at a car show once looking thru a photo album of one of those little low riding pick-ups. It was a lot of good pics of how they built the thing. My wife gave me a funny look knowing what I think of little low riding pick-ups. The point was I could appreciate the work and craftsmanship. They had done a really nice job. so what if it was not something I would want.
I seen a magazine article one time about a guy that mounted a N14 in the bed of a F150. He kept the little six up front to run the ac and ps. Why would a guy do that? Because he could and he wanted to.
I seriously doubt the point of making the truck in the video was to build a work truck to pull a gooseneck. -
That's part of the reason new trucks are prohibitively expensive for those of us who need trucks to do chores. These "money ain't a problem" fools buy 'em up, hack 'em up, and think they have something when in reality, all they did was lighten their wallet and help the dealer justify the ridiculous price because "people are buying them". Can't hardly find a good work truck on the lot anymore, and when you do, it costs so much you're reluctant to use the truck because you don't want to ding it up. Most "full size" trucks these days you're lucky if it has a 6' bed...and anything less than 8' on a full size truck is about as useless as tits on a bull. Even my little Ford Ranger has a 7' bed on it. Whoever thought it was a good idea to "mega" size the cab and reduce the bed to 4' ought to be shot. You no longer have a truck. At least Ford realized that and named their silly little "sport trac" an Explorer instead of trying to pass it off as a Ranger with a crew cab.
It isn't that I don't appreciate craftsmanship and a person's ability to fit things together. I just find it a waste of time & money to use that talent to reduce both the usefulness AND value of whatever it is they are working on. I love seeing people modify things to WORK better. Custom fabrication that makes it do the job better, ride better, pull better, haul more, be more durable, capable of going more places...stuff like that I understand. Stuff like that, if done right, will increase the truck's value because it works better than it once was. Some modifications, however, are best left on the drawing table. When a person doesn't have enough sense to do that, I really can't bring myself to appreciate the fact that he was able to take a perfectly good work truck and hack it up into an expensive grocery getter. A guy driving a minivan or a station wagon gets more respect from me than the fool tooling around in that thing.truckthatpassesyouby and AModelCat Thank this. -

The 8.3 is pretty notorious for cracking where the turbocharger mounts to the exhaust manifold. I agree. Better options are out there.Terry270 and rabbiporkchop Thank this.

Get rid of the ####### stacks and airhorns on it and that'd be a #### good lookin truck
Stacks and airhorns don't belong on a small truck!rabbiporkchop Thanks this.
