For 2 hrs you won't get paid. But if your down 24 hrs because of a breakdown you get paid like layover.
    What's the emissions light?

SSB is probably with his wife dealing with really serious health issues.

He'll be back, when he's ready.

Breakdown pay at Magnum is much like with my last company. If you aren't down 24 hours, you won't get it.

Magnum is MUCH more chintzy with their hotel pay however, which seems just stupid as Hell to me. I Started my day at 4am. I bring the truck into the shop at 4 PM. They get done with it at 12 am, and I'm supposed to just deal with a 20-hour day and get up 5 hours later for a load? That's just stupid.

    It's also illegal as Hell.

All so they don't have to spend a stupid $50 on a hotel room? That makes ZERO sense, for all concerned.

Magnum just opened themselves up to one HELL of a lawsuit for fatigued driving, which is EASILY provable, to save $50. Yes, that's STUPID.

It's (in the words of a mentor of mine) "Tripping over a dollar bill, trying to save a nickel."

That's just trucking rookie. Get used to it.

Downtime stuff, the shop not doing what you expected? That's just gonna happen with any company. I have the downtime scars to prove it.

Problem is, that when we have a 34 at the shop? Ya, 99% of the time they're gonna be hammered. Murphy's Law and all that.

CR gets DESTROYED with truck service calls and they were NEVER MEANT TO BE the main truck shop.

They were supposed to be mainly a TRAILER shop. But things have worked out so they're IT, for everyone.

Meanwhile Fargo, which hardly anyone ever gets routed to, is Idle a lot of the time.

No One's fault. I don't think anyone anticipated this. But CR gets 99% of the traffic and doesn't hve the staff or the space to do ALL their allotted work. It will shake out, given time, but yep, in the meantime, it sucks. -HARD.

One topic I hope we address in the upcoming calls with Chad is outbound freight, I agree with @Jubal3 that getting to Fargo is ridiculously difficult and thus to many trucks are ending up in CR which in turns struggles to get them freight at times.

It would be nice if we could use more broker loads in the inbound regions to better balance freight loading and the number of trucks sent to CR, of course a few more loads heading to Fargo wouldn't hurt either…overall I'm keeping busy, but like everyone I dread when I'm headed for CR late in the week because I know getting a load will be difficult, and I miss working with Fargo lol.

How are you folks doing with loads these days, speaking with drivers when I run across them things seem to be going well for most, how's your trimester shaping up?

If you read Jubal's last 2 posts, you'll think they were wrote by 2 totally different people.
In fact, the second post would be the perfect reply to the first.
    And get to sleep
