I was told because of the NEW log parameters they no longer make drivers move because it interrupts their breaks.

I disagree but I don't make policy......

 

then they need to remove that signage.

That's nothing short of a lame-### excuse by whoever told you that.... Because they could still move their trucks and then never interrupt or break contrary to whoever the hell said that

 

But if Schneider were to ask them to move the truck then it'd go against their core value of safety ( read, total and utter control) of the driver. Remember log as you do it.

I agree it's a lame excuse but it is what a driver service desk person said.

Again if we're depending on SNI to make sense then we're the fools.

 

It's basically a CYA move by SNI. If the truck moves without a pretrip showing, it will send a message to the truck. They just don't want to be on record telling drivers to move trucks if they haven't started their day.

 

It never sent a message to my truck when I roll my truck across the yard if I'm on my break I don't know if they have the company Qualcomm units set up different than IC I wouldn't think they do

 

It only sends the message if you haven't started your day yet. It started when they changed how drive time is calculated from when the truck begins to move rather than after a set distance.

 

I understand that but I still move my truck across the yard if I have to and it doesn't do anything

 

And you probably will never get in trouble for it. But if does create a record of it and if somebody has an accident while doing that it opens up a big bullseye for lawyers. Which leads to the policy of not forcing drivers to move in those instances.
