If you're parked on that shoulder for any reason other than emergency and you are not clearly marked with triangles within the prescribed time and someone hits you it's your fault. Period. I see more and more drivers pulling off that shoulder without accelerating with no regard for traffic. (Let's not talk about a standard merge) I came very close to a fatality myself because of a driver just pulling off of the shoulder when I was pinned and could not move into the left lane. I was overweight with a permit load weighing over 115000 pounds at 65mph. How the hell could he not see me coming. Can't trust your fellow drivers anymore. Probably a few factors in play here but I can almost guarantee you the color of the drivers skin didn't have a #### thing to do with it

Ignorance is bliss. Keep following that truck in front of you like a good truck driver.

It's the quality of the truck drivers that we have today. They can't think ahead or think for themselves. They do what they are told without question.

They can't even find the facts on this accident on their own.

    48Packard Thanks this.

I've nearly been forced into taking evasive action a half-dozen times in the last year or so because some clown with a CDL pulls off the shoulder before gaining any speed....zero common sense exhibited. Just one of the reasons I'm looking for a way out of this profession.

It's drivers like that that are forcing the good drivers out. The good drivers are being replaced with a vacuum.

It was stated earlier here about parking on the ON ramp if you have to stop.A lot of drivers don't know why you park on the ON ramp and not the OFF ramp.
