Not sure I'd really trust a shop down there. I have been using Schroeder, right across the river, and Dave Schmidt in Belleville. Both are probably closed today though.

Try giving Petroff Towing a call, if they can't help you they'll be able to point you in the right direction

Check if there's any fuses connected to the battery or a disconnected wire.

Did you reconnect EVERY wire that you had disconnected while cleaning the battery posts? Company freightshaker I used to drive had ONE TINY LITTLE WIRE that was easy to miss if you weren't looking for it. Powered the ECM or something like that. Without it connected, the truck would not fire. Perhaps your transmission has a little wire like that running to it? If it was working fine before you messed with it, and hasn't worked since, that's where I'd start looking. Retrace what you did, looking for ANYTHING you may have overlooked.

I gone over the batteries I dont know how many times. There are no loose wires anywhere. So what i did that got me here.
The alternator had green on the large wire at the top and rust on the smaller two terminals that have wires attached. I hook the batteries. I unhooked the small terminals and the large one. Cleaned and replaced connections. Top get power, bottom has power, the other one has no power and shows ground. Now the one that shows groung , the small one, it terminal turns and turns. I found a small 9mm that fit the inner nut and snugged it tight. Hooked up that wire. Could this be the problem?
Got truck started by jumping starter soleniod. Would not start with key.
Now have data link error, no tach no gear box, no gear box temp. Check data link. Going to try the guy in bellville tomorrow.
What a great fathers day. 14 hrs from home and no way to get there.

CK. for a inline fuse on small wire inside a plastic cover near where you reconected the small wires to batt.

I know you have been over this a few times but it worked before you took it apart and now it doesn't.
Did you get all the wires hooked up to the correct terminals?
Some time you can either miss hooking up a wire or hook up wires to the wrong terminal.
It seams that one of the main power feed wires is not hooked up or hooked to the wrong terminal.

Thanks. I have checked all fuses at the batteries. They check fine on both sides. But on the alternator and i think this might be the issue after googling delco remy, one of the terminals kept turning instead of doing up. The alternator is putting volts, the dash shows 13.8v but the terminal that kept turning showed no power but did have a wire hook to it. I dont know just hope.

Maybe but power feeds should originate at the battery's not the alternator.
Can you Post up a picture of the alternator ?
I might be able to tell you what the terminal is that your talking about.

Hope you are right. Will take another look in the morning when my headache is gone. What do you think about the terminal on the alternator that kept turning. I was holding the wire and didnt notice that the terminal kept spining
