Yep I'd build a bulkhead for it. Depending on how much dunnage you carry looks like you would need 2 accross and 3 to 4 high. I'd prefer 3 across 4 high. You want your bulkhead as close to touching as possible too. The trick is to stop it from sliding before it starts.
I used to carry 12 boards. When I got my new trailer they had only put 10 on it.DDlighttruck Thanks this. -
Kinda like that? Stop and buy 3-4 more to go higher?

You need to get your chain much tighter to the dunnage, how you have it now if that load starts moving them blocks will be turned into tooth picks.
DDlighttruck, lester and Chewy352 Thank this. -
You want to wrap the chain around 1 pocket not 2. That will hold the oak tight. And build the height to at least catch the bottom of the top row of metal.
DDlighttruck and Chewy352 Thank this. -
Buy 4 more boards. You want it to look like this.
Hegemeister, peterbilt_2005, macavoy and 4 others Thank this. -
Better? That's the best I can do tonight.
macavoy Thanks this. -
That's better, but you want to keep your dunnage like chewy has his, nice and tight and square with each other and the deck.

Yep. You're getting it. Get more boards to reach higher and the new boards should sit neater and tighter too. Hard wood is best but harder to find. My company is cheap so we just carry softwood. But I also just carry more of it.
DDlighttruck Thanks this.
