? Because he will be shifting a ten speed?
Cng trucks don't get fuel immediately like a diesel fueled truck does so there is a delay between when you bump the accelerator and when the engine actually responds.
If you don't account for that delay while shifting its going to spit the stick back at you and make all kinds of fun noises ;)

You worried about shifting? You just spent a year being in auto watching the thing shift for you when you are slowing down and speed up. You already can walk off in low gear. Once you run out and need to go up... have at it.

Piss on the manual, You will own it in a few moments or minutes at best.

Remember trucking is riding a bike, anyone can do it once taught.

and again I ask. That slight delay is different then the automatic he'sbeen driving for the past year, how?????? both trucks take 2 seconds before actually responding with a gas pedal.

Idk why this is hard for you snowwy and I dont know how to explain the difference between shifting an auto and a manual other than "auto" and "manual".

The auto trans has zero to do with my comment. I'm simply sharing my experience of the difference between the diesel and cng power plants.
Its pretty easy for most people to switch back to manual from auto, jumping from diesel manual to cng manual is a little bit different and it didn't sound like the op had any prior experience with cng trucks.

Still pretty easy and I'm sure the op will have no trouble with picking it up.
Just trying to pass on a tip to help him out. Not sure why you are taking such an issue with that.

It's not hard for me, but apparently it's hard for you.

You push the gas pedal down. And wait 2 seconds for the truck to move. You explained that with CNG. And i'm telling you it's the same effect with automatics. So it really is no different to the op. CNG or auto's. They both lag. It's really not a difficult concept to comprehend. Or is there something else in teh equation??????

On your test In a 10 speed just add up the speeds 35 and up and you have your gear. Backing will be easier than the auto anyways.
