I admire your ambition to seek out respectable, quality training. I just wish there was a way to "grade" them in an honest and non-partisan manner. Typically a person only has experience with one school and has nothing to compare with and a narrow frame of reference.

There’s a sub-forum just for trucking schools at http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/forums/trucking-schools.297/. I suggest searching for schools near your location in that sub-forum to see what other users said about them.
You should also put your location in your profile otherwise users cannot really help you as a school they might recommend could be on the other side of the country and of little use to you. -
I would think the best school are the ones who offer one on one training and dont use sleepers packed with 10 people in it. If im paying a few thousand for truck school, I want to be in the drivers seat, not the sleeper. You dont learn by watching, you learn by doing. Thats why alot of people arent skilled truck drivers. Remember, most of the schools just teach you the bare minimum to pass the dmv test.

CR England but you have to be their slave for 6 months

I went to school at a local community college. Same training, and cost me $600 instead of $5000. School wasn't owned by a trucking company, so I wasn't tied down..

Thats a good way but not too many community colleges offer truck driving courses
