Hey guys! Ill be starting with Prime on 7-11. I have a question about birth certificates.
When my parents had to get a copy to register me for K-12 apparently in 1995 the Commonwealth of Va was giving out "Certification of Vital Records". It lists my birthplace as being [CENSORED] County, Virginia.
It has a seal, imprinted in the corner, and a watermark background. It is issued by the Commonwealths DoH-DoVR.
Should I get a new one that says "Certificate of Live Birth" or is my original one that I have had for 20 years going to be good?
I DO NOT WANT TO BE SENT HOME! Thanks.

Might want to just get a birth certificate for 25 bucks -
I would call Prime and ask them, just to have it from the horses mouth.

Probably should have just called PRIME to begin with.
They said that as long as its issued by Department of Vital Records then its Kosher.flatbeb mac Thanks this. -
It is probably a state requirement, take both to eliminate gray area. I renewed my license the other day and a birth certificate was required by the SOS to renew. They would not accept the one signed by the doctor at time of birth with my footprints on it, only the copy issued by the clerk.
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
They told me my doctor issued one was no good. I have no idea where that is truth be told. This one is the one I've used for every job and, drivers license, CLP (Wasted 4 hours and $3 to make sure i wont have any problems in Springfield. I know it wont transfer but at least I know I'll pass), DCJS Armed Security Officer License, Ext. ext. So I think that copy is good.
