I always leave the drivers side window cracked a tad bit when I go to sleep. That way any CO has a place to escape.
Buy a CO/CO2 detector if you sleep in your truck!

For the ones that fart your sleep, you might want to get an H2S ( Hydrogen Sulfide) detector. H2S and CO ( Carbon Monoxide) are a lot more dangerous than CO2 ( Carbon Dioxide). CO2 can't enter the blood from outside air. It can only be built up from inside your body. The most common sources of CO2 are dry ice and soda. Unlike CO, CO2 has an odor and can be smelled in higher concentrations.
You can get a five gas detector. It is used in the oil field and other industries. It is smaller than a pack of cigarettes. Just a warning, it will go off in a truck stop bathroom from all of the H2S and CH4 (Methane). -

Fire-Man and HalpinUout Thank this. -
One of them saved my life 4 years ago. Was over 35 degrees Celsius so I had the apu going while sleeping. Woke up 3 hours later not knowing what was going on (totally confused) with a massive headache and had a hard time catching my breath, the detector was going off but I was so out of it, it took about 30 seconds for me to figure out what it was. Opened all the doors and shut the apu off and went and sat under a tree in the shade.

I picked up a 2 pack of Kidde combination CO and smoke detectors from Home Depot for $39.99, sealed unit with a 10 year battery so I don't even have to think about it for the expected life of my truck. Mounted one on the wall by my head, just below the bunk hvac controls and the other on the interior roof panel in the center of the driver compartment. I am as worried about smoke as I am CO since I have had both a house and truck fire in the past. I also have a 5 pound B:C fire extinguisher mounted on the corner wall of the sleeper by my head, just in case.
ExOTR Thanks this. -
Guess that's why it comes in a twin pack...
Place one on the floor and one on the ceiling.
