    Helping out some fellow drivers with a small list of those who have automatic trucks. Now theres no need here to talk about not being a real trucker if you have to have an auto. Yes i can drive a manual but lets face it auto is easier, less stressful. Some of these are half manual half auto. So here goes, if I seem to be missing any feel free to add.

    I once heard and that is probably not the best source, that all trucks would be automatic in the near future.

    I read here on TTR that a good majority are switching back to manual. Not sure if true or not

    Im not sure on that. A few years back it was hard to find a few non mega companies with autos. Now it seems everyone is getting rid of the manual fleet and adding in the autos.

    I worked for Big G Express out of Shelbyville TN for several years. At one time they tried switching the fleet to autos but the drivers hated them so much that they've now gone back to all manuals again. It impressed me that they actually took heed of what their drivers wanted and made it happen. That's a sign of a first rate company. If I ever decided to go OTR again, they're the only company I would consider.

    No...more and more are going autos. While the old timers wish they would go back...and God only knows why...more and more are going auto.
