Yeah, it's been a rotten week. I'm too tired to even cook my purdy steaks tonight. Guess I will just go to bed. Tomorrow WILL be better. (I hope!)

I think I will just have to file the company per diem formula under "things I will never understand" and move on.

Its hard enough trying to figure out their detention pay.

Don't do it JB!, don't try to figure it out on your own.

Im still trying to recover from the headache I got doing that...and I had payroll on the phone explaining it to me at the time.

Yeah but you wouldn't get for free if you went on your own.

First time for everything and this is my first time calling breakdown. At gatorade picking up and there is a trailer tire off the rim. Someone must have been driving with it flat for a while to break the beads completely.

Let's scroll up and see who has been to Gatorade recently. :)

Sorry to hear you had a bad week RC. I hope the next couple weeks will be real kickers for you and help make up for it a little bit. :)

Perhaps, but not necessarily. It all depends on how it went flat. A slow leak caused by a nail, bad valve or something and it could have been dragged for a while. A sudden blow out can break those beads instantly. I had a couple happen like that and even stopping within a 1/4 mile it was completely off the beads. Had others that not only blew suddenly but also shredded completely off the rim within a few hundred feet. So much depends on the type, quality and age of a tire.

I pulled one old dog out of our yard once. It must have been sitting for a very long time because it had two tires on it that were pretty dry rotted. The tread was fine on both. I told the mechanics about it and they said "oh they look fine just roll with it". I laughed and said I'll be lucky to get 50 miles with it. I was wrong. I made it 86 before one of them let loose. Can you say more expensive road call? LOL

I didn't think to ask for mine at orientation and it wasn't offered. I saw it in a file with all the paperwork I signed but that was the last time.

I was just in safety today asking about it and they can't find it. The last person I saw with it is no longer with the company so it's as good as lost forever.

Luckily it was submitted to the DMV before disappearing and I have a photocopy that concentra gave me so I should be ok.

I couldn't find any punctures and the tread looked good. It was flopping around on the wheel when I moved the trailer out for the breakdown guy so both inner and outer beads were fully broken.

Could have been a bad valve. Slow leaks are almost impossible to detect and they can go flat while driving since your last inspection without even noticing it. Especially if it's an inner tire.
