Never really had to tarp a load before other than pipe in 5 years of driving. This is the second load now, the first I stopped every 5km for the first hour to fix my tarp lol

Mac: should I get off at 4 or should I get my hours?
Wife: Get off at 4 if you can
Wife: It's been a long week already I've been here with the kids for 2 weeks by myself

Mac: Is there anything going to pop up before 5 or ...
Boss: No but you can hang out here till 5. Actually you can go clean the tracks of the excavator you are going to haul tomorrow

Moral of the story: you can't just milk the clock for hours whenever you want, you got to do it on the Friday of a long weekend as well when there are no office staff around.

But I'm bored, so I'm going to go wash my truck next to pass the time quicker.

At least they weren't too dirty and full of mud.

It was at the shop to help put together a new milling machine, so mostly driven on concrete.

    Was a "make work" project.

Did a trailer switch today with another driver. I found two bald tires, one on the wear bars, and a few junk straps. I replaced two straps, and threw another couple as extras. Got two new tires put on, the shop manager and dispatch took the gamble to run the one at the wear bars. A+ quality. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

That's the worst strap I've ever seen on a load.

I don't ever recall seeing the yard totally full. Seems like no matter how early I start, someone has already left. Seems like I'm one of the only suckers who chose to work the Saturday of a long weekend.

The one ON the load was one I left. The two I pulled off were worse. I threw one good one next to it and rolled.

I didn't want anything to do with the whole trailer. My safety department has a written complaint now, I'll be voicing a loud verbal one Monday.

    Dye Guardian Thanks this.
