And I thought I did bad at Stevens. Man I even looked up these guys when I was after my CDL. But I still believe that any company is what you essentially make of it. I like many found this site late in the game, but Ripoff Report and Complaint Board all list Stevens, CRE, Swift, and even Werner on their sites. I just didn't listen but I did score a local job back home. Never believe the "no one will hire you" jazz cos I'm home working local making decent paychecks with zero to no pressure except maybe weather.

i actually read my contract with them and they do have a competitor clause. in fact the guy that runs the indiana school came in and told us how you can even get jammed up by it without even doing anything wrong while still holding true to your contract. sorry if you got screwed, on the 9 month thing, sounds like you just signed stuff. always read what u sign.

LoL . . . on another "forum!" The "positivity ~ aka: no lease, no O/O one..." Last I checked, anyway. G'day, driver! Stick with the pumpkins; no joke.

My brother drove for England Trucking. He always said " I earn what I earn" and that is true. He also used to say " I live in my truck, I have no expenses, I am single, again, I earn my living".

When you live in your truck, your single and you have no real expenses like a home, a car note, utilities, taxes, etc, you can get by on whatever paycheck they send your way. $ 400.00 a week to someone who lives in their truck buys alot of buffets at the petro, vidoe games, toys like $160.00 headsets, nice CB Radio, etc.

First thing I did when I decided I wanted to try a trucking career was to hit google and type in "Top Ten Worst Trucking Companies To Work For".

C.R. England showed up on several of those lists. (So did Swift and Prime.)

If it shows up on one list, maybe you take it with a grain of salt. In the restaurant business, there's a saying: "A happy customer will tell two people. An unhappy customer will tell ten." So there will always be more people griping about a company than not griping about a company.

But if a company shows up on multiple lists of "the worst trucking companies to work for"? As they say, where there's smoke, there's probably fire.

I nearly signed up with cr years ago to get started but I researched. People don't understand that 95+% of companies that will hire a driver with under a year experience with reimburse tuition from a respectable cdl school/program. Thats what I did. Went to C1 in Indy and signed up with a small fleet. I hear all the 2-6 week "team" driving/training. I took a trip from central Va to Ohio an back with a trainer and given the keys to a 850,000+ mile international 9200i and was told to not cause any property dammage or get any tickets lol

Here I am nearly a million miles later no accidents or csa points lol
