Maybe living in the truck and getting lucky every week. Interstate just doesn't plan this way, nor do their trailers. I'd be hard pressed to believe you're doing $20,000 a month in revenue being here. $4000 a week is believable on a consistent basis and that takes work and everything has to go 100% your way. Other than that, I'm calling bs.

 

Nope. I average around $3400 and I'm home every weekend. Most of my runs are less than 400 miles and I'm almost always within 600 miles of home. Not enough stuff loads over the weekend anywhere.

Ok, so you don't do $5000 a week. But that $5000-6000 is what you said you're doing. So I was right to call your bs.

With that said, I see the board. I know how and what is planned. Once you hit the board, you'll find out what I'm talking about. Dry freight just doesn't pay enough, nor is it planned well enough here to do more than about the $4000 a week consistently. Will you occasionally do more? Absolutely. Will you more often hit less? Yep.

Am I complaining about this fact? Nope, I like being home more often. As a matter of fact, I will start work Tuesday morning and home by Friday afternoon after getting home this past Friday night. I'm planned to do about 1150 miles, including all deadhead to and from my home and between loads. I'll do a little over $2400 in revenue this week. This includes one terrible paying load back to SoCal from the Phoenix area.

 

Here, try using a calculator. Up, back and up would equate to $5000, not $6000. Then back, up and back equates to $4000. This is a perfect world when everything goes exactly as planned. BTW, it never does.

Also, not ALL Cali loads pay good. Some actually suck. Now, most pay good and some actually pay great.

I reread what you posted. It seems you are terribly misinformed. We have very few SoCal to NorCal paying $1000 and even fewer, meaning none, coming back to SoCal paying that. If you're talking about coming down from OR or WA, you'll be lucky to see anywhere near $1000 for the entire run, maybe 75 cents per mile straight back. Up, kind of depends. Were you smart enough to grab that $1.90 pm load up or were you not so smart and grabbed the $1.50?

BTW, I'd be curious as to how many miles you're doing per week, including deadhead, for your $3000-4000.

 

After arguing $5000 to $6000 a week, now I find this. I guess I was right all along. Look dude, if you're going to BS people, at least don't constantly contradict yourself within the same thread you're BS'ing to people in.

What you posted here is the norm. $3000 to $4000 a week. Imagine that. This will be what you can expect when you hit the board and only after you learn how to properly plan yourself using it. Trust me, guys screw up their planning all the time and if you've never used a board, you will, too.

BTW, just so you understand, my $3400 is if I work A full week. I will still be home on the weekend. This past week was only $2600 for about 1600 miles. I left late Monday afternoon and was home Friday night. A regular load didn't come across or it would've been $3400-3600 and I would've been home Saturday night. #### happens. I don't sweat it and I had a 3 day weekend.

 

Dang near every Ad states % is that which is billed to the Customer. Nothing I have ever read or looked into were anything to do with Brokered loads. Most larger Carriers have contracts with Customers and use very few, if any Broker loads.
