I was in Wyoming up at the POE on I-90. After waiting 40 minutes while the lady talked on her phone to her boyfriend, she started to chastise me for having "a lot of exactly 10 hr breaks", "we like to see some 12-14 hr breaks once or twice a week". I told her I didn't really care what they liked to see, but what the law required. I am out here to run, and make money, as much as I can until I get back home. Not to set around in truck stops.
I guess that doesn't make her corrupt, but she was definately rude, unprofessional, condescending and pretentious.

That doesn't surprise me. What does surprise me is that the next officer to see you didn't say "the load is readily reducible". And void your permits and make you fix it. Each one would interpret that situation differently and use it their advantage and your detriment.

Slapped that officer? Really? You would commit a felony because you do not know or care to abide by the law? Any non reducible load over 102" is over width. It requires permits. If the mirror width was the law, I'd have not had to buy half the permits we've bought. I haul a lot that is between 102" and the mirror width. And any reducible load is supposed to be reduced....

Thats idiotic... You know nothing about how I bid loads, don't pretend to be an expert on everybody's business. I give a total price delivered to a specific address for a specific size load. I get 100% full payment before leaving with the load. The load didn't grow between pick-up and the Wyoming border, the law says I don't need an escort, so how exactly do I tell my customer to pay for something that is not needed? Maybe YOU would do that but I have a reputation of NEVER changing the price for any reason. If I misquote because I forgot I need an escort, if I didn't check width restrictions or the state puts one up at the last minute, I eat it... Im not going to ruin my reputation by holding a customer hostage because Roscoe P. Coletrain decides to rape me for a few bucks.truckthatpassesyouby, KeithT1967, Chewy352 and 4 others Thank this.

Its easy when there are 30 trucks in the country capable of doing what you do and most of them are booked 60 days out.

Assuming the OP is telling the truth, and as of yet I have no reason to believe he's not, not only is somebody at that scale house not passing the smell test from where I sit, but they're pretty blatant about it as well.
The LEO is saying OP's load is a full 7 inches bigger than what was measured by the shipper and the OP. That's a pretty big difference.
If we were talking about at most a couple inches, I'd be more inclined to lend some credence to the naysayers here, but not with what facts are currently presented.
