If you can, talk to some of their drivers about the miles they're getting. If they're just out and back hauling steel the miles may not be what you want. Maybe put Decker Truck Line in the search function on here and see what's on there. Personally, I don't know if the miles are low, but would definitely ask if that's important to you.

 

I did bro that's how I found you lol! But I only see a cpl trucks here and there and it's always on the interstate in the Bessemer area. I talk to someone on their Facebook page and they said they will take me right out of school starting at $.37 cpm. They have a option I like out all week home on weekends.

 

I missed quoted flatbed pays $.40cpm with $.1 increase every 3 months then $.1 every anniversary

 

I remember years ago at US Steel in Bessemer, they were on strike and really harassing drivers. They tried to assault one flatbed driver, so he ran over them and killed 2 or 3. He went to prison though. I know one employee at US Steel and I think he was the laziest person I've ever known. He stayed in trouble there, but the union protected him.

 

Yeah I remember the story didn't know the facts tho. If u have the time to listen I'd like your opinion.

I have a grant from the state that will pay for me to go to school that way I want have to commit to a company for a year and be otr. Then I thought about going to prime and I know I'll be otr lol. Will 1 yr with decker be the same as 1 yr otr

 

It'll count as OTR. Some companies will want you to have run in "X" number of states, but most won't ask that question.
The grant is a good deal. Melton Truck Lines hauls out of Bessemer also, but probably won't get weekends home unless it's a dedicated account.
Decker has really nice trucks though.
Britton Transport has flatbed division.
