I would say he deff needs to leave tmc and get a local gig. With his 3 years and being a trainer to boot he has a ton of options if he gets all of his endorsements. @Chinatown is right about tankers, that's what I'd look into or LTL/food service. So lets just say across the board hes netting 1000 every week for being gone 5-6 days at a time being a trainer. He's being taken advantage of at tmc. If he's in good shape really look hard at LTL/food service. I started out doing food service when I got my cdl, did 3 20hr runs a week with a co-driver and would bring home 950 on average sometimes 1050-1075 after taxes if it was a big case week. The work is hard but pays #### good for working quite a bit less than what he's doing now

Miller Transporters has an owner-operator program. Haven't researched it in a few months, but seems like it's $10K down payment for a tractor that's set up for tankers.
They have a terminal on I-95 in GA.
Maybe he should work there as a company driver a few months and check it out first.
I still think he should look at Trimac then when the girls are ready for college, jump to their Elite Fleet to pay for college tuition.

Superior-Carriers
Tidewater Transit

I'm taking all advice into consideration. I know he just really wants to enjoy his own success and hard work instead of a boss banking on it. He is in good shape and is fast and efficient. Gets compliments all the time. I heard of some type of maintenance escrow account for repairs. Not sure if it's through dealer or a company, but if you put $ into it every week, it will cover repair even if entire account doesn't cover it. Anyone familiar with this?

I didn't see any openings with Trimac in Jax. I think Miller said hazmat, which he doesn't have.
-
Trimac he needs to just walk in and ask for an application.
He needs that hazmat endorsement.
Tankstar has a terminal in Jacksonville. I think it listed as Rogers Cartage on the Tankstar website. Still, need hazmat.
He better stay where he is until he gets hazmat endorsement. Many companies pay more if the driver has hazmat, even if they rarely haul hazmat.Last edited: Jul 7, 2016

It's the GTA lease. When I was a young lad, I'd pretend to be a super trucker on GTA San Andreas. Yeah I had no girlfriend at the time. But #### did I pay myself good pretending to be Billy big rigger.
