Help insurance company is saying im atfault for an accident will trucking companies see?

    Ok so back in 2013 I was in jail for misdeamenors. My ex wife totaled my car and she told the insurance company I did it. I tried to get it resolved but the insurance agent basically said you were married its one in the same. The police report which I have does show that she crashed it I even sent them that. no luck. So now my insurance rates are higher for my car which is crazy. I pretty much gave up trying to fix this. They said they need to talk to her and she isn't gonna. yeah right. she told them I ran into the back of a truck. Which kind of happened a year before that at a red light. No damage happened though just a scratch on my car. Anyway, i'm sure this wouldn't show up on my MVR, but will trucking companies be able to see this? Could I show them that 1. I was in jail. and 2. the police report? I've never been in an accident knock on wood. thank you. p.s. she was drunk when she crashed it and got a dui.

    and ofcourse I signed the claim thinking she told them what really happened. I trusted her even though she was sleeping with a few guys cheating.

    I wouldn't tell them you were the pokie. That will bring a lot of unwanted questions. Let them know you're estranged wife was responsible for it and tried to pin it on you. Don't go into the marital particulars. Let them know you have a police report that says she was the driver for the accident if you do indeed have that. Keep it short and simple. Do not get into all kinds of messy personal details. Stay professional and keep yourself above the personal problems

    The Insurance company increased your rates, they were correct in doing so as a wife has access to your car. The fact your rates went up has nothing to do with your MVR. It will not so up and the trucking companies will not know about it.

    Your being in jail will cause you problems but it will depend on what you were in for. Read the application very closely. If it asks about Felonies do not give them any information about Misdemeanors. If it ask about misdemeanors give the only the information they ask for. Do not volunteer anything. Do not go into an interview like you are begging for a job. Go into it knowing they will only pay you the very minimum they can get away with. Go into knowing that you deserve to be paid like a man. Be a man and put away those things in your past that have gotten you locked up.

    Now about the wife sleeping around....do you have a picture you would like to share? Maybe her phone number. It is lonely out here.

    You will have to send insur. co. a copy of dov. to prove she not still driving your car so they will reduce your payment,dont vol. any of that other info. to your co.

    Get a copy of your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Google your state and MVR. I think you might pay for it, my state used to charge $7. Don't give an employer a long and complicated story, they assume anything longer than yes/no is probably a fish tale.

    Just keep the police report ready and available to show potential employers. It shouldnt be on any of your records since it was her that wrecked the car.

    LOL Wooly, just dont let her drive your car.
