I've seen hundreds of alligators beside the road in Oklahoma and Texas in the last few days.

Some driver over the weekend got a hat trick... 3 deer and a bumper on the shoulder to prove it.

All at once? Reminds me of the trucker that took out a herd of elk on I-90 near Cle Elum, WA. IIRC over a dozen elk. The WSP that responded to the scene said it was worse than anything he'd seen in Vietnam.

The trucker kept it upright. Apparently the elk herd rushed the road in an attempt to cross.

Last year my brother passed hundreds of elk just off the road in NW Wyoming, really nervous about them bolting in front of him.

Elk are dam scary to think of hitting, even in a truck. Every year there are a lot of elk vs truck crashes around Flagstaff. Not all of the truckers are lucky enough to walk away from it.

Got a 4 point bull 2 years ago. The idiot was already to the right of me and turned around. Wonder how he got so big being so stupid.

You guys talking about elk reminds me of the driver at my company that hit a moose last summer. It was a solid, straight on his and destroyed the entire front end of the truck.

And apparently, those "moose bumpers" are great for deer and other small animals, but a full-grown bull moose will bend the frame and write the truck off (according to one of our mechanics as to why our trucks don't get the bumpers).

What your mechanic isn't thinking of is yes, the frame gets bent, but you still got a steering axle attached to that frame so you can get off the road you're way. Hit a mouse without a guard and you are getting off the road uncontrolled. Idk about you, but when i got 5pk pounds of steel behind me i much prefer the slow and controlled stop vs the fast and uncontrolled one. If i ran up that way I'd absolutely be putting a guard on.

Had a run in with a Stealthy Black Angus late one night a couple yrs ago. I couldn't see it and apparently it couldn't see me either. What was left of my hood was covered in poop. I knocked the poop out of it.

I was living north of Boston working out of Wakefield. Had to be in for 4am. Hit a coyote on the way in. Was on a side street and saw the yellow eyes but it was too late. Took out the fog light on my passenger side personal vehicle. Never thought I'd encounter a coyote in suburban boston
