That I don't know, didn't get a chance to talk to anyone, had to park in parking lot next to tower and next to where tey split the cars at on a hill and send them down different tracks. Had to walk down the side if tracks to where machine was then drive it back to where I could load it.

It's a ballast blast undercutter, for removing ballast from under rails and ties so new ballast can be put down. 13'10 tall. Took a pic from the company's website that makes the one on this machine.

Different place. You couldn't miss the ties if you were there. 10's of thousands of them.

Interesting, looks like a harvestore unloader from that angle. Looked like a big chainsaw from the picture you posted, rail road equipment is pretty cool they have all kinds of neat toys.

Not sure on the roller ld.
Mill rolls normally come from machine shops or ports. Not job sites, or from steel mill going to rebuild shop
Has me curious now as well

Ya I didn't know what it was either at first, had to look it up. When first seen it thought maybe was for clearing brush on right away like you said. Took a few minutes to figure out the controls, and even longer to get it folded up like that.

    Oxbow and macavoy Thank this.
