driving a trash truck rocks!

well, if you are doing front loader, for commercial or construction dumpster loads, maybe so.

i did city garbage routes.

it DOES pay well, but on top of Mt Trashmore, getting juiced and "maggatized", just comes to a grinding halt real fast. no amount of money can buy enough bath soaps.

 

yes, in the beginning, OTR sucks, so you have to make adjustments, and just do your time, till something better comes along, and it usually does.

i was stuck on the city routes as i was hired specifically for that, and transferring to roll off, or front loader was about a 6 month waiting period, and that was IF you were on the list. because back then, you had to be a 1 year employee, to get on the list.!

 

i was hired to drive, i had 2 guys on the back, but i''d have to jump out at times for the heavy stuff. or, i'd have to run back into the truck, and roll up the windows, as they both would kick the fences or gates, of houses with big dogs.

one day, a dog jumped over the gate. both guys ran past me and yell, "drive ahead and get us". like WTF is he saying?

then i see a HUGE German Shepard, chasing them.

 

You forgot all you care to eat.

 

I haul demolition and industrial waste....I love it. Did it for 3 years and quit to haul feed for 11 months.....roll off company called me back because they needed a driver bad. I went back. This is where I belong

 

I just want to know if you have ever spilled something on you and now have super powers of some kind?

 

Not yet.....but I have nearly wiped out a number of times on "mystery juice" at the transfer stations from the residential trucks....
