    What a peckerhead.

Situation like that I'd drag the trailer till the tires blew, then I'd drag it some more if needed. :violent1:

Russell, KS. Old habits die hard. I miss the dedicated run I used to be on... sometimes. I make more now doing 500 fewer miles a week so, there's that.

My biggest fear is breaking down on a single lane like that or in a cattle run. This guy was just an ### though. So you gotta drag a little rubber.. big deal. And to refuse a helping hand like that is ridiculous. Even if "you got it" what's wrong with another set of eyes backing or an extra pair of hands when something breaks.

On a side note, my skin crawls everytime I see a Crete/Shaffer truck in my mirrors. We do 60-61. They do 61 and will pass the first chance they get and for somereason its always at the bottom of an upgrade. I have zero problem backing out of it to alleviate the massive line of traffic this creates. I plan my day so I have those few seconds to spare. They must think their truck unlocked some hidden horsepower or something because it is very rare to get a thank you. But then every tiny hill they're chugging along at 50 where I rarely lose speed thanks to being deadhead 50% of the time and when I have a load it's usually a light one.

This is when I take my pee break a little early and just get off the highway for few minutes to avoid this nut to butt game. That or I'll run at 55 for a few miles to create distance. That's how I keep the stress and anger of a snail drag race in check. There are a few companies that I just know it's going to be like this but Crete is by far the worst at knowing when to pass and when not to. Heading into Carlisle is always fun with our terminals so close together. Just my 1 1/2 cents though. Carry on.

He wasn't trying to fix it. He was refusing any/all help while waiting for the tow truck to show up. Which was not easy for the tow guy since one lane.

It's funny, I haven't had those issues with Crete. Prime however... Your post summarizes my upcoming Prime rant so well that I don't need to have it anymore. But this logic applies to everyone whose truck goes faster. Just because their truck goes faster than mine, they're automatically better than me and deserve to be in front no matter what other conditions apply. I just brought a load of potato chips from Binghamton to Charlotte. All day yesterday two prime trucks that couldn't pull a hill to save their life teamed up to ensure that I was behind them the whole way. Today, going over fancy gap, a YRC wiggle wagon HAD to be in front of me no matter the fact that he was going 50 at best at every grade. Blew my doors off on every downgrade and then immediately slowed to a crawl in front of me.... And with all the traffic backups yesterday, I really didn't have the time to pull over and let them go far enough away. Plus.. There's just be another ####### doing the same thing no matter how long I waited.

West Monroe, LA. Got another trailer with problems...tandem slide pin won't quite make it out far enough. Actually it will, but the handle won't stay put to hold the pin in place because the notch is gone.

At least that's what the Mississippi DOT officer said during the random inspection.

Picked it up this way in SC, headed to Dallas. Figured I'd drop by the OC after I unload Wednesday...which is still the plan. But I'm not going out of my way for this #### anymore. My time in this profession is down to months, and the givadam is busted.
